“CCC is where I've seen genuine, loving,
humble sinners seeking their Savior's mercy and extending
the grace He shows them. It's a place where joy abounds
yet tears are understood.”
- actual quote from someone
who is checking out CCC
At first glance, ChristCommunity Church will look a lot
like many other churches. Worship, kids activities, small
groups - all the 'things' you'd expect to see. But the attitudes
and motives behind these things may be very different. Listed
below are the eight core values that make ChristCommunitya
new and refreshing church family.
1. sincere humility - Sin and struggle
are daily realities for all of us. Since no one has arrived,
we will be known as a community of needy people bringing
our daily needs to our Savior so we can explore and enjoy
His solutions.
2. Good News of God’s Grace [!]
- In the Bible, God offers Good News to sinners. His goodness,
love and justice, seen in the life and Death of Jesus, draws
us into deeper relationship with Him, motivates us to follow
and serve Him and gives us hope for the future.
We are much worse than we know, but God's Grace is much
more than we can imagine!
3. individuals - We will appreciate individuals
for who God has made each person to be and seek to understand
their unique past, present and future. No cookie cutters
or simplistic cliches.
4. real relationships - God has initiated
a loving relationship with us; therefore we glorify Him
through biblical personal relationships, small groups and
a deeply caring community that resembles a large extended
family.
5. integrity - In our relationships,
we encourage honesty about our struggles, questions and
failures; and gratitude for the victories and growth God
has given.
6. personal callings - We all should
enjoy the satisfaction and fulfillment of a meaningful part
in the Father’s family business. Ministry belongs
in the hands of all of God’s people. God has called
and equipped each of us to minister to others.
7. future-minded - The Good News of God’s
Abundant Life is just as relevant to modern people and cultures
as it was when it was delivered to people in history; therefore,
we seek to communicate this good news to “real”
people in the “real“ world. We will invest in
things that will leave a lasting impact: our families and
daughter churches.
8. diversity - God’s creativity
has created not only different individuals but also different
cultures, each displays His glory in a special way and helps
us grow. In Revelation 5:9 we see how grace draws all cultures
together.
