We have said many times that ChristCommunity Church is
an interdenominational ministry affiliated with the PCA*.
But what does that mean???
It means that everyone is welcome! We are not pushing a
specific denomination on anyone. We hope that at any given
event there are non-Christian seekers as well as people
from all backgrounds exploring and enjoying Jesus, his people
and the life He gives. In order to join and be a "member"
of ChristCommunity a person simply needs
a credible profession of faith in Jesus Christ. All are
welcome!
Our full statement of beliefs can be found in the American
version of the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms.
This is a document formed as an act of Parliment in 1643-47
by as many as eighty pastors, biblical scholars and laymen
from England and Scotland. Its purpose was to clear up 'false
aspersions and interpretations.' In our opinion, the Westminster
Confession of Faith and and Catechisms stand today as the
best summary of biblical thought and forms the doctrinal
standard of ChristCommunity Church . For
more information check out the Westminster
Confession of Faith
Here is a twelve point summary of our beliefs.
- The Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God,
the only infallible rule of faith and practice.
- There is one God, eternal and self-existing in three
persons (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) who are to be equally
loved, honored, and adored.
- All mankind participated in Adam's fall from his original
sinless state and is thus lost in sin, totally unable to
remove guilt or satisfy the righteousness of God.
- The Sovereign God, for no other reason than His own
unfathomable love and mercy, saves lost sinners from every
nation to be redeemed by the quickening power of the Holy
Spirit and through the righteous life, perfect atoning death
and resurrection of His son, Jesus Christ.
- We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God,
who through His perfect life and sacrificial death atoned
for the sins of all who will trust in Him, alone, for salvation
.
- Those sinners whom the Spirit quickens, come to believe
in Christ as Savior by the Word of God, are born again,
become adopted children of God, and will persevere to the
end.
- Justification is by faith and through it the undeserving
sinner is clothed with the righteousness of Christ. [Rom
8:1!]
- The goal of salvation in the life of the Christian is
to glorify God though our pursuit and enjoyment of holiness,
good works, and loving service.
- At death, the Christian's soul passes immediately into
the presence of God and the unbeliever's soul is eternally
separated from God unto condemnation.
- We practice "Believer's" Baptism and "Covenantal"
Baptism. Baptism is a sign of God's covenant and is properly
administered to children of believers in their infancy as
well as to those who come as adults to trust in Christ.
- Jesus Christ will return to earth, visibly and bodily,
at a time when He is not expected, to consummate history
and the eternal plan of God.
- The Gospel of God's salvation in Jesus Christ must
be published to all the world as a witness before Jesus
Christ returns.
